Wednesday Quote

A wise woman once said “Set a fire for a man he’ll be warm for a night. Set a man on fire and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.”

Wednesday’s Quote

“There is a solitude, which each and every one of us has always carried with him, more inaccessible than the ice-cold mountains, more profound than the midnight sea; the solitude of self. Our inner being, which we call ourself, no eye nor touch of man or angel has ever pierced.”
― Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Wednesday’s Quote: Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

Did you have have this book as a child? Our family did. I think it was mine originally  although who knows anymore. When I was younger I’d give it to my brothers for their birthdays because it was my favorite book, and my next birthday they’d give it back.

“You have brains in your head and feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own and you know what you know.
And you are the one who’ll decide where to go.” -Dr. Seuss

I read over the worn and scribbled pages of that book and dreamed about that glorious moment when I would become 18 and then again when I turned 21. I would be an adult. I’d have liberty. I could move out and strike out on my own, make decisions for my life. As much I as I wish I could look back on my childhood with warm fuzzy nostalgia, being an adult is just the best.
